Visy Cares has committed funds to the development of a new, co-located youth services centre in Sunshine. Construction for this state-of-the-art facility is jointly funded by Visy Cares, the Australian Government, the City of Brimbank and the Victorian Government.
The Visy Cares Hub, which opened in 2007, will become Australia’s largest co-located youth service centre. The object of the Visy Cares Hub is to maximize the positive opportunities for young people, aged from 12 to 25 years of age in Sunshine and the western suburbs of Melbourne, by co-locating a range of services and programs in the same building.
Independent research conducted at the Visy Cares Centre Dandenong, the conceptual basis for the Sunshine project, revealed substantial benefits accrue to both young people and the service providers at co-located facilities.
