Visy Cares was established in 1995 to promote corporate social responsibility by developing projects in locations where Visy has large manufacturing sites or areas of substantial community need. As at April 2008 seven Visy Cares initiated projects are operating in Dandenong, Shepparton (2), Reservoir, Meadow Heights, Laverton and Sunshine.  Projects are at various stages in Fairfield and Brisbane.

The projects operating are:

  • Dandenong – co-located youth services centre
  • Laverton – transition centre for young people under 16 to re-engage with mainstream education and TAFE
  • Meadow Heights – community learning centre with maternal child care, internet access and facilities for community use
  • Reservoir – centre for year 12 students, student lounge and canteen
  • Shepparton – indoor basketball courts with dance studio, performing arts area and multi purpose consulting rooms
  • Shepparton – integrated health care centre, forming a new entry to the Goulburn Valley Health hospital
  • Sunshine – co-located youth services centre
